REVIEW, THE HUMMINGBIRD BAKERY

By Abigail Alder

‘Delicious, if heaven had a taste Hummingbird Bakery have captured it’ T his was the way new customer Lauren Davies described the bakery - she is not wrong. With a vast selection of cakes, pies and cheesecake: there are always several pairs of hands pressed against the protective glass; belonging to customers completely in awe. The cakes so rich in flavour will leave you wanting to buy everything on display. When asking loyal customer Roni Dawkins her thoughts on the bakery she said: ‘Melt in your mouth, best cupcakes I have every tasted’ Hummingbird has seven bakeries across London, but if you can’t make it into one of the stores, there is a delivery service: bringing their moreish cakes straight to your office or home in the city. Not being the type to limit their customers; the bakery have branched out to include a smaller range of cakes called ‘Made without’. This selection allows customers that have a gluten allergy the freedom to indulge. Hummingbird has even put together a number of cookbooks for the baker within us: you can pick one up either in store or online. And if baking really isn’t your strong point, fear not: Hummingbird have an online blog, where you can get tips as well as being able to ask the professionals for advice. If you haven’t tasted the cake version of heaven yet, one suggestion for this summer is to get yourself to a Hummingbird Bakery.
